Do Hybrids Get Smaller Gas Tanks?

Side-by-side tank sizes for recent models sold in both gas and hybrid versions. Sometimes smaller, often the same.

Sometimes. The battery has to go somewhere, and since a hybrid gets better mileage, a smaller tank can still give it a longer range than the gas version. But plenty of hybrids keep the same tank as the gas model, and the odd one gets a bigger one. The table compares the smallest hybrid tank with the smallest gas tank in the same recent model year.
